Teachers Together English is an ESL curriculum for kids and teens, written by a tutor who teaches one to one online every day and taught every lesson to his own students before it was published. It started in 2021, and it now lives inside The Tutor Resource.

How it started
Teachers Together English began in 2021 as a grassroots effort by a small group of online educators who were all solving the same problem: hours of preparation for every one-to-one class, and no curriculum built for the way we actually taught, on a shared screen, with a child on a camera. The big publishers write for classrooms. We needed lessons for a screen.
That early collaboration laid the foundation. Today the project is led by David Cole, who wrote most of the curriculum, teaches from it daily, and continues to expand and refine it. The rule that has held from the first lesson to the latest one: nothing is published until it has been taught to a real student, and anything that fails in front of a seven-year-old gets rewritten.
What it is today
A six-level progression for kids and teens, from Pre-beginner to Advanced, with hundreds of ready-to-teach lessons built for screen sharing. Every lesson opens with review, puts a picture on every new word, and ends with the student producing language, because that is the shape that works online and most lesson libraries do not have it.
In 2026 the curriculum moved into The Tutor Resource, the app built around it. That is where the placement test, the homework and feedback generators, student tracking and scheduling live, so a tutor can place a student, teach the next lesson, send the homework and show a parent the progress without leaving one place. This site is where you read about the curriculum; the app is where you teach from it.

David Cole
David has taught English online, one to one, for years, and still teaches 70 to 100 classes a week from the same lessons he publishes. He came to it from corporate training and instructional design, which is why the curriculum is built as a sequence with a reason for every step rather than a pile of activities. He also built The Tutor Resource, the app the curriculum now lives in, because the lessons were only half of what a tutor needs.

Where it is going
The six kids-to-teen levels are the core and they come first. An adult curriculum already exists and will get its own pages. Writing and reading tracks are next. All of it lives in The Tutor Resource, and this site stays as the place to read about the curriculum, compare the levels, and learn the craft that goes with it.
The old lesson platform on this site closes in October 2026. Members already have their accounts waiting in the app; new tutors should start there.
